What I Wore: Lunch on The Embarcadero

Sunny and warm days in San Francisco are a thing of beauty. When the weather is fresh, there is nothing I enjoy more than al fresco dining on The Embarcadero. My favorite spot is La Mar - a Cebicheria that serves incredible Pisco Sours.

To match the vibrancy of the restaurant, I picked a neon floral skirt and a bright carrot red top.

Cafe Dates on Charming Lanes

Sunday is my favorite day of the week. For some, it's the laundry/grocery/cleaning day... for me, it's my restorative day.

The weeks are busy and Friday/Saturday evenings are at times wild, but Sunday is peace. Sunday is my day for friends, for strolls and for enjoying the gorgeous San Francisco weather.

This weekend I was so lucky to be joined by my dear friend, Maddison. She is as lovely on the inside as she is on the outside. Our destination of choice was Mocca Cafe on Maiden Lane where we sipped lattes and discussed future travels.

Mocca (though overpriced) is a charming spot located in perhaps the most gorgeous street in downtown. Surrounded by Chanel and Diptyque, listening to a live Opera singer at the end of the lane -- it was the perfect close to this weekend.

Affordable Luxury: SF's Best Massage

I like to indulge.

From afternoon tea, to designer shoes, to exotic trips. A girl has gotta treat herself.

One of my all-time favorite indulgences is massages. There is nothing like laying in a cozy bed, while a stranger works out your knots using lavender scented oil. It's heaven.

Though I love it, the problem with massages is... they ain't cheap. In fact, they are pretty freakin' expensive.

A trip to a luxury hotel's spa could run you $300+ for a deep tissue and even mediocre spas will run you $120 for a 60 minute sesh.

Well - I've got some incredible news! I've discovered the most underrated massage in San Francisco: The Cinta Aveda Institute.

I've visited the Cinta Aveda Institute for a hair cut and I loved my experience (and the cut... see below)! The Institute is filled with students training to go to the country's top salons and spas.

I vaguely remember seeing on the brochure that they offered full body massages for 60 minutes for $40. A few days ago while walking home after yoga, I decided top pop in and confirm my suspicion. The spa is located dangerously close to my office.

Low and behold - I was delighted to find out I was right! I nabbed an appointment for the next day.

Another big win is they take appointments up until 6:30 pm.

I was escorted to my little section which was in the corner and simply lovely. The spa area is partitioned off by curtains, but they keep it totally private and very zen. The ambiance combines the urban setting and exposed brick with music like Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald.

My massage therapist, Martha -- though just a student, was very professional and gave an amazing full body massage including scalp and feet. Not to mention she used lustworthy Aveda products throughout the treatment.

I highly recommend the Cinta Aveda Institute in San Francisco for your next massage. You will not be disappointed and you simply can't beat the price.

I'm Not Bossy. I'm the Boss.

(Me, Age 5)

A year ago today, Lean In was published by Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook. The book has received mixed reviews from being called elitist and absurd to revolutionary and inspiring. I side with the latter reviews.

This book changed my life. This book shaped so much of what I hold to be core values and truths.

Regardless of the feedback - Lean In achieved something extraordinary. It started a conversation that has been quieted for too many years. It brought life back to the work of women like Gloria Steinem and challenged the women of our generation to stop settling... to lean in.

On the one year anniversary, LeanIn.Org has embarked on the #banbossy campaign.

#banbossy is centered around the idea that:

The only "b-words" attached to us will be: Bold, Brave and BOSS.
